v0.5 works on Vista and Office 2007 but v0.6 does not

Description

Letting you know the v0.5 works fine on a Vista machine with Office 2007.

v0.5 Works with Office 2007 Outlook Vista machine
v0.6 Does NOT work with Office 2007 Outlook Vista machine something must have changed in the code.

Please provide more information.

  • When you say 0.6, do you mean 0.6p1 or a trunk snapshot? If the latter, what revision?
  • In what way does Outlook 2007 "not work"? This is not descriptive and provides no clue as to your problem. Please describe the behaviour you observe in 0.5 versus the behaviour you observe with the 0.6x code.
  • Do Office 2007 applications other than Outlook exhibit problems with the 0.6x code also? If so, please describe.

I will do best to describe behaviour in Outlook 2007.
First v0.6p1 is the one experiencing problems.

v0.6p1 navigates Outlook 2007 well until you try to read the message. NVDA
0.6p1 will read the first line of a message only. When reading keys are used
a piano "Ding dong" sound is made and no speach output. There are no issues
while writing a message.

v0.5 navigates well through Outlook 2007 and reading keys work well while
reading the message. No problems.

Both v0.5 and v0.6p1 work with Microsoft word 2007 Excel 2007 and Access
2007, but I cannot give a good test as I am not a proficient user of access
and excel.

Office 2007 appears to be very accessible to NVDA with NVDA being able to
read and navigate the toolbars very well making use of the new toolbar
hotkeys.

Can you please attach a log file for this error? The sound you describe indicates that NVDA has logged some error information. You can access this from NVDA menu -> Tools -> View log. You can then select Log menu -> Save As to save it to a file.
